NXT Women’s Title Match: Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley

We go back to the ring and out first comes Bianca Belair. She stops and spins, showing off the “Black History In The Making” message on the back of her robe. Belair swings her hair and heads to the ring. NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is out next. They have words as Taylor does formal ring introductions.

The bell rings and they size each other up. They test each other and break, taunting and talking some more. Ripley goes to work on Belair’s arm now, keeping her down and talking trash. Belair counters but Ripley knocks her in the mouth. Belair comes back and slams Ripley for a pop. Belair blocks a comeback in the corner as the referee counts. Belair ends up running into boots in the corner. Ripley drops her with short-arm clotheslines. Belair ducks one but Ripley dropkicks her into the corner.

Ripley stomps away in the corner. Ripley with a big chop to the chest. More back and forth but Ripley drops her again to keep control. More back and forth as they trade power moves. Belair grounds Ripley as the dueling chants continue. We see Belair’s parents at ringside. Ripley rocks Belair back into the corner and finally fights free. Ripley with a big back-drop. Belair charges but Ripley lands two clotheslines. Ripley with knees to the face and a takedown. Ripley with a big dropkick while Belair is down. Ripley powers up with Belair on her shoulders. Ripley slams Belair face-first for another close 2 count.

Ripley manhandles Belair in a submission, slapping her around. Belair finally fights free and sends Ripley into the corner face-first. Belair goes on and hits a big Spinebuster for a close 2 count. Ripley with more offense and another close 2 count. Belair ends up rocking Ripley while placing Ripley on the top. They trade huge strikes while one is on the top and the other on the mat. Belair gets the upperhand and presses Ripley high it the air, then to the mat. Fans go wild for Belair. Belair with a handspring moonsault but Ripley gets her knees up. More back and forth as Belair’s parents watch on. Ripley blocks a KOD. Belair ends up taking a big boot to the mat, but comes right back with a big Spear as they both go down now.

They trade strikes from their knees in the middle of the ring now. Fans chant “this is wrestling!” now. Ripley unloads and nails a superkick in the middle of the ring. Belair with strikes and a forearm. Ripley with another kick after blocking the hair whip. Ripley charges and Belair nails a huge back-drop, sending Ripley high in the air and then to the mat. Belair runs the ropes and leaps out, taking Ripley down on the floor. Belair gets up first but Ripley fights her off. Ripley slams Belair face-first into the steel steps. Ripley brings it back in the ring. Belair kicks Ripley away. Ripley charges but Belair sends her back to the floor through the ropes. Ripley fights in from the apron, sending Belair into the top turnbuckle. Belair cuts Ripley off and climbs up with her. Belair goes for a superplex but Ripley fights back. Ripley with a headbutt. Ripley goes for the sunset powerbomb but Belair holds on. Ripley keeps fighting and grabs the pumphandle. Ripley hits a big Riptide while Belair is on the top for the pin to retain.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

– After the match, Ripley recovers as her music hits. We go to replays. Ripley raises her title but she’s attacked from behind out of nowhere. It’s Charlotte Flair. Flair poses as the crowd goes “Wooo!” at her. Flair takes the mic and says she thought about it and she will see Ripley at WrestleMania. Fans pop as Flair drops the mic. Flair hits Natural Selection on Ripley. Fans boo and cheer as Flair raises the NXT Women’s Title in the air. Flair drops the title on Ripley and makes her exit as the mixed reaction continues. Flair exits the ring but grabs Belair and launches her into the steel steps. The boos get louder now as Flair poses.

Natalya did a promo saying she was dedicating the match against Charlotte to her uncle, Bret Hart. Charlotte came in with Ric Flair and told her she was beneath her and a warm up for her three way at WrestleMania. Nattie said make it a Title match. Charlotte said no. Nattie said my uncle was right, the Flairs are cowards. That is all it took.

Charlotte vs. Natalya for the Divas Title is up next.

Charlotte was in control early until Natty came back and put her in a surfboard. She went The Sharpshooter but Charlotte bailed to the floor. Then Charlotte then went to work on her again. She was doing a great job of playing nasty heel. Charlotte did a lot of cool heel stuff as she worked over Natty, who she called a has been.

After a few minutes, Natty made a small comeback but Charlotte quickly got the upper hand. Charlotte took Natty’s leg and whipped it into the post. She tried to do it again but Natty stopped her and rolled away. When Charlotte got in the ring, they faced off with punches. Natty laid her out and when for The Sharpshooter but Charlotte powered out and got a two count. Then she nailed Natty with a big boot. Natty sold it like she was dead but as Charlotte put on the Figure Four Natty powered up and eventually rolled Charlotte over, but Charlotte came back and slapped her in the face. Charlotte rolled to the apron and went out, torquing Natty. She came back in and got a two with Natural Selection but Natty kicked out. Charlotte tried two more covers but only got two counts.

Charlotte went up to the top for a moonsault but Natty grabbed her and got a two off of a Sitout Powerbomb. The fans chanted “This Is Awesome”. Yes it is. Vince, are you listening?

Natty went for the Sharpshooter but Charlotte got out. She tried again and locked it on. Charlotte was in the middle of the ring and she crawled over to the ropes and grabbed Ric’s hands. Natty got up and yelled, “Are you serious” and slugged Ric. Charlotte used the distraction to roll up Natty, and used the ropes to get the win and retain the Title.

Charlotte vs Dana Brooke (with Emma) 

Charlotte lets out a woo before getting face to face with Dana. They exchange some words and Charlotte pushes Dana and connects with a boot to the head. Charlotte with a series of knees to the head. Emma gets on the apron to distract Charlotte and Dana hits Charlotte from behind. Charlotte with a shoulder in the corner but Dana moves when Charlotte goes for a shoulder in the corner and Charlotte hits the ring post. Dana gets a near fall after some forearms and punches.

Dana with a body scissors but Charlotte turns around and sends Dana into the mat. Charlotte picks up Dana but Dana is able to counter and gets a near fall with a lateral press. Dana chokes Charlotte in the ropes and the referee warns her. Dana catapults Charlotte into the bottom rope and she gets a near fall. Dana gets a near fall.

Dana with more near falls and a bow and arrow. Charlotte kicks Dana in the head and gets a near fall. Dana misses a clothesline and Charlotte with a chop. Charlotte with a neck breaker and spear. Emma gets on the apron and Charlotte knocks Emma off the apron and then Charlotte hits Natural Selection for the three count.

Winner: Charlotte

NXT Women’s Championship Match
Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte

A slow-paced start as they really put over how both women know everything about each other, and how hard it is to gain any sort of advantage. Lots of pinning combinations. Sasha eventually gets ahead and connects with the double knees in the ropes for two. The slow breakdown of the challenger starts now with a few minutes of rest holds, leading up to the choke hold using her hair and hands. Banks puts her in headscissors choke and eventually Charlotte gets the crowd behind her and dead-lifts the champ into a powerbomb to break the hold. Huge lariat for two-and-a-half. She tries for a vertical suplex but Sasha turns it into a nice backslide pin for a nearfall, then transitions into a neckbreaker for two. We get a scramble for submission holds as they both go for their signatures and transition a half dozen times. Charlotte fully locks in the Figure Four and Banks rips out a huge chunk of her hair extensions! Sasha manages to get to the ropes and drop to the floor, but Charlotte holds onto the submission until the referee physically forces her to break it up. Banks with a roll-up for a very close nearfall. Bank Statement hits out of nowhere, Charlotte tries to roll it over into a pin, but is forced to tap out. Great match.

Winner: Sasha Banks (still champion)

An emotional Sasha and Charlotte hug it out after the match. This would be the kind of moment where you know it’s a send-off with Charlotte headed to the main roster and passing the torch, except that they both already debuted together.
