Asuka left WWE fans guessing after her historic victory in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match: Would she challenge Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss or SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair? At WWE Fastlane, that question was finally answered when Asuka pointed to the WrestleMania sign while simultaneously staring daggers at Charlotte.
On The Grandest Stage of Them All, the undefeated Empress of Tomorrow will attempt to seize the crown from The Queen herself, in what has potential to be the greatest women’s match in WrestleMania history.
Charlotte has been on a red-hot streak during her reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion, knocking off every opponent in her way, including Ruby Riott at WWE Fastlane despite repeated interference attempts from The Riott Squad.
To say that The Empress of Tomorrow is her most formidable challenger yet is an extreme understatement. The undefeated powerhouse has an incredible arsenal at her disposal, as well as a charismatic attitude that can give her a psychological advantage over any foe. One thing is becoming more and more clear every time she steps in the ring: Nobody is ready for Asuka – including Charlotte Flair.
Can Charlotte hand Asuka her very first defeat in WWE, or will the second-longest SmackDown Women’s Title reign come to an end at The Showcase of Immortals? The WWE Universe will find out at WrestleMania 34, Sunday, April 8, at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT and streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network.

Tonight’s SmackDown Women’s Championship is huge for Charlotte Flair. Not only is she competing in front of her hometown crowd, but she’s on the verge of making history by potentially becoming the first Superstar to hold the Divas, NXT, Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships.
The Queen has also revealed that tonight’s title bout against Natalya has deeply personal meaning. During an interview on Facebook Live Tuesday afternoon, an emotional Charlotte dedicated this match to her father, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
“There’s only one person I could dedicate the win to, and that’s my dad,” she said. “I wouldn’t be here in WWE if it wasn’t for him.”
It has been an emotional few months for the Flairs, as the 16-time World Champion was hospitalized while battling severe health issues. While The Nature Boy is recovering, the gravity of the situation is not lost on Charlotte.
“When he was in the hospital, all I could think about was ‘My dad’s never going to see me wrestle again,’” she said.
Surely, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer will be keeping a close eye on tonight’s event deep in the heart of Flair Country.

Charlotte Flair will get another opportunity at the SmackDown Women’s Championship next Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE when she challenges Natalya in her hometown of Charlotte, N.C.
In their last encounter for the title at WWE Hell in a Cell, The Queen had the champion on the ropes and looked to be on the verge of taking her first SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, a desperate Natalya grabbed a steel chair and used it to batter Charlotte’s knee in a jaw-dropping attack.
In the meantime, the champion has been focused on her impending Champion vs. Champion battle with Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series, while The Queen qualified for Team SmackDown in the Women’s 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Match. However, this match has the potential to change Survivor Series, as a Charlotte victory over Natalya would result in The Queen facing Bliss in Houston.
Who will take control of the SmackDown Women’s Championship? Find out next Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!

The self-styled “Welcoming Committee” is about to get an introduction of their own to SmackDown LIVE’s newest alliance — however tentative it might be.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi, Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch will officially join forces against the sinister collective of Natalya, Carmella & Tamina at WWE Backlash, forming an alliance that is as tenuous as it is potentially dominant. The self-styled “Welcoming Committee” has been running roughshod over Team Blue since the Superstar Shake-up, thwarting Charlotte’s bid for the SmackDown Women’s Title and later causing a ruckus that led to Natalya defeating Becky when SmackDown LIVE emanated from London.
Luckily, The Irish Lass Kicker saw the game the “Welcoming Committee” played and proposed that she, The Queen and The SmackDown Women’s Champion form an alliance at WWE Backlash. Of course, a team between a champion, her most recent challenger and a wild card isn’t exactly the most ironclad of alliances, especially against a trio that seems hell-bent on causing chaos and maneuvering themselves to the front of the line. But it might just be crazy enough to get the job done. Now all they need is a cool name.
Tune in to see which team prevails on WWE Backlash, streaming live at 8/7 C on WWE Network this Sunday.
