In an interview conducted by Huffington Post UK, Dave Batista discussed what he got to see when he was at NXT a few weeks back. He was

It’s not so long since you visited WWE’s developmental territory, NXT – who should we be looking out for?
Well I didn’t get to see all the talent at NXT but they’ve certainly got some down there. Some big boys down there too! The person I’d really like to see come up and I hope she changes things around for the women’s division which has gotten so fluff, is Ashley Fleihr or Miss Charlotte as she’s known there. I really hope that she does well. I watched her in a match with Nattie Neidhart recently and it was a really good match. I think that was mostly down to Nattie because Ashley is still learning, she’s still super green but I’m hopeful that she’s got a big part of her dad (Ric Flair) in her and that she can change things around because she’s very athletic.

It’s great to see Charlotte getting praise so early on in her career, and here’s to hoping Batista’s bold prediction comes to fruition.

Since we haven’t been around on the internet for long, we wanted to take time to look back at Charlotte’s career so far. Today, we’re looking at one of Charlotte’s first matches, where she took on her future BFF, Sasha Banks.

Charlotte makes her way to the ring, followed by Sasha Banks.

Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks

Sasha hooks a headlock to start but Charlotte rolls away. A dropkick puts Charlotte down for two and it’s off to an armbar. Charlotte fights up and backflips out of the corner before wrapping up Sasha’s legs for a sweet rollup, getting two. A chop (of course) staggers Banks but she easily takes Charlotte down and puts on a camel clutch. Back up and a running knee in the corner has Charlotte in trouble but she comes back with a clothesline. That front flip into a facejam/cutter (like Cena’s Throwback) is good for the pin at 3:19.

Winner: Charlotte

Charlotte (c) vs Summer Rae- NXT Women’s Title Match
Formal introductions are made by Eden and the bell rings. Summer & Charlotte get into each other’s faces and Charlotte shoves Summer down. She then starts to dance to mock Summer, which only angers her. They get into a full-on cat fight which Charlotte gets the best of. Charlotte pins Summer for a 2 count before kneeing her back and placing her into the Figure Four Headlock. Whilst holding this, Charlotte turns around and rams Summer’s face into the mat. When she gets out of it, Summer asks Charlotte for peace, but then pulls the rope down causing Charlotte to fall onto the mat hard.

Summer brings Charlotte back into the ring and gets a 2 count. She then goes on the offensive targeting Charlotte’s back. Summer locks in a body scissors submission while screaming “I MADE YOU CHARLOTTE!” Charlotte does everything she can to get out of the hold, and manages to turn it into a pin, causing Summer to break the hold. Summer then locks in a half Boston crab while yanking Charlotte’s mouth!

Charlotte breaks the hold and regains momentum, but Summer hits a great roundhouse kick. Charlotte is able to hit a spear on Summer for a two count. Just as Summer tries to go for the Summer crush, Charlotte reverses it by slamming her face into the mat. Charlotte then hits the Bow Down To The Queen for the win and she successfully retains her NXT Women’s Championship.

Winner & still champion: Charlotte
