Editor’s Choice- Who Had The Best 2014?
Published by: |   Comments Off on Editor’s Choice- Who Had The Best 2014?      Read MORE      Filed Under: WWE.Com

WWE.Com’s editors picked out which Superstars & Divas had the best year last year (how weird is that to say now?!). Check out what they had to say about Charlotte, who is one of 3 Divas who made the list.

From newbie NXT Diva to NXT Women’s Champion, Charlotte’s WWE career skyrocketed in 2014. After besting Emma and Alexa Bliss in the NXT Women’s Championship Tournament, the daughter of 16-time World Champion Ric Flair defeated Hart family Diva Natalya for the NXT Women’s Title at NXT TakeOver in one of the most memorable and competitive Divas matches of all time. Since her victory in May, Charlotte has defended the NXT Women’s Championship against her former BFFs, Summer Rae and Sasha Banks, as well as Bayley.

Who will dare to challenge this self-proclaimed “genetically superior athlete” in 2015? The future looks bright for NXT’s most dominant and charismatic Diva. It’s surely only a matter of time before Charlotte shakes things up in WWE’s Divas division. – KARA MEDALIS

NXT Trainers Make Takeover Predictions

NXT Performance Center trainers, Jason Albert, Sara Amato and Norman Smiley spoke to WWE.Com about tonight’s NXT Takeover event, and gave predictions on the matches. Below are the comments for Charlotte’s title defense against Sasha Banks.

Jason Albert: That’s a tough one for me. Sasha claims that she taught Charlotte everything Charlotte knows. But has she taught her everything Sasha knows? I have doubted Sasha in the past, but then you see her with someone like Becky Lynch, and what she’s done for her, and you start to think maybe she did create Charlotte. I’m going to go with Sasha Banks. WINNER:Sasha Banks

Sara Amato: Sasha has a real mean streak, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she takes it, but of all the girls I’ve ever been in the ring with, Charlotte has a focus, determination and dedication that true champions have. I’m going with Charlotte. WINNER:Charlotte

Norman Smiley: I have the pleasure, at times, of working with the Divas, and in my opinion, Charlotte is one of the best athletes that we have in NXT, so I’m going to have to give the edge, physically and strength-wise, to her. However, Sasha is The Boss. She’s going to do whatever she can do, however, wherever, whenever, to pounce and become the NXT Women’s Champion. If I had to pick one, I’m going with the champion, Charlotte. WINNER:Charlotte

Charlotte: 2, Sasha Banks: 1

WWE.Com Interview- Friends No More

“The worst pain in the world goes beyond the physical. Even further beyond any other emotional pain one can feel. It is the betrayal of a friend.” — Heather Brewer, “Ninth Grade Slays”

On Thursday, Dec. 11, the NXT Women’s Championship will be placed up for grabs as Charlotte defends against No. 1 Contender Sasha Banks at WWE NXT Takeover R Evolution. Under normal circumstances, such a marquee matchup would spark the interest of any NXT fan looking to enjoy a highly competitive match between two of NXT’s premier Divas. But as time has shown, the stakes are pricier than pure championship ambition. Not only will Sasha and Charlotte compete for the NXT Women’s division’s richest prize, but both must also compete with the emotional scars of a friendship gone terribly wrong.

“When Sasha and I were teaming up together as the BFFs [Beautiful Fierce Females], all we wanted was one thing: the NXT Women’s Title,” Charlotte told WWE.com. “The moment I won that title is when the dynamics began to change. In my opinion, Sasha’s jealousy is the only answer to why we broke up.”

While Charlotte’s assessment of her former BFF partner may be a popular opinion throughout the NXT Universe, The Boss had another theory on the split.

“I will tell you exactly when things began to change,” Sasha said. “Charlotte had taken a little vacation from NXT and as soon as she returned, she assumed her last name gave her the right to control me, and nobody controls Sasha Banks.” Read the rest of this entry

NXT Takeover: R Evolution Preview
Published by: |   Comments Off on NXT Takeover: R Evolution Preview      Read MORE      Filed Under: WWE.Com

The careers of NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte and Sasha Banks may have diverged with the splintering of the BFFs, but on Dec. 11 at WWE NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, their paths will intersect in what is sure to be heated and fiercely competitive championship bout.

The self-proclaimed “baddest Diva in NXT,” Sasha has ratcheted up the intensity in recent months, coinciding with her renewed focus on winning the Women’s Championship from her onetime partner in crime. To support her claim, Sasha has made recent examples of Alexa Bliss and Bayley, trouncing both and making them submit to her lethal Bank Statement lung-blower/crossface combination. Bayley, in particular, has suffered at the hands of The Boss, who’s taken up Becky Lynch as her new cohort.

Together, Sasha & Becky — aka, Team B.A.E. (Best At Everything) — have relentlessly bullied NXT’s happy-go-lucky, hug-loving Diva, and the duo’s cruel antics have run afoul of NXT’s premier Diva, Charlotte. The NXT Women’s Champion has taken it upon herself to look out for Bayley and even the odds, when possible.

Declaring herself a genetically superior athlete, Charlotte has been on a roll since winning the NXT Women’s Title at NXT TakeOver in May. Will her luck change when she defends against Sasha on Dec. 11, live on WWE Network? Unlike Charlotte’s previous challengers, Sasha not only has a personal connection with the champion, but she may also have deeper insight into Charlotte’s game plan, given the months they spent together, side by side. Add in the X-factor of Sasha’s new alliance with Becky, and the possibilities are endless.

Watch what happens when the former BFF allies square off with the Women’s Title hanging in the balance at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, live on WWE Network Thursday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
